Kit Harington and Rose Leslie Confirm Their Engagement In A Classic British Way

Kit Harington and Rose Leslie Engaged

Kit Harington and Rose Leslie engaged – Their engagement ad in the Times

The Game of Thrones stars, Kit Harington (Jon Snow) and Rose Leslie (Ygritte) made the news of their engagement official with a classified advert in The Times.

It is kind of cute. The advert reads, “The engagement is announced between Kit, younger son of David and Deborah Harington of Worcestershire, and Rose, middle daughter of Sebastian and Candy Leslie of Aberdeenshire”.

The couple started dating back in 2012 but they didn’t make their relationship official until 2016.

Both fell for each other on the sets of Game of Thrones while shooting for Game of Thrones Season 2. All the best to this couple. Wedding bells are gonna ring soon.

Game of Thrones Season 8 Budget Is Gonna Be Huge

Long Night is Coming Game of Thrones Season 8 budget

Game of Thrones Season 8 Budget

Good news for Game of Thrones fans. Game of Thrones Season 8 budget is being discussed and according to a new report, the final six episodes will cost a whopping $15 million per episode. But wait, that’s not it. According to the buzz, the actual budget may be even bigger for each episode of Game of Thrones Season 8.

We saw amazing battle scenes in the Spoils of War and Beyond the Wall. Not to forget Jon Snow’s bonding scene with Drogon. All of these take special effects which are astronomically expensive. There were more dragon shots than ever seen before in Game of Thrones Season 6 so we can expect much more in the next season.

The final six episodes of Thrones will all reportedly be feature-length. The longest episode of the series to date, the Season 7 finale, clocked in at just shy of 80 minutes. The last season will feature more battle scenes than the last season so it’s only fair that David Benioff and D. B. Weiss demand more money per episode from HBO.

Game of Thrones Season 8 Directors Finalized

We now know that Miguel Sapochnik (of the Battle of Bastards and Hardhome fame) will be making a comeback for directing some episodes of Season 8. Miguel is not shy of putting special effects in the episodes (Talk about Giants in Hardhome and Battle of Bastards). He will have many resources at his disposal given the $15 million budget for each episode. Weiss and Benioff are going to direct the Game of Thrones finale so we may get lucky to see Nymeria and Ghost as well in the finale.

We may also see the deadly dragon battle, Drogon vs. undead Viserion in the next season. This was confirmed by Game of Thrones Sound Designer Paula Fairfield in an interview with Vanity Fair. Game of Thrones Season 8 budget may give us shots of the direwolves, dragon shots and undead giants shots. Can’t wait for Season 8 to begin.

Kit Harington Engaged To Rose Leslie

Some sources have claimed that Kit Harington And Rose Leslie are now engaged.

The Game Of Thrones actor who plays Jon Snow, 30, has reportedly popped the question to his girlfriend of five years Rose Leslie, also 30.

The gorgeous couple is rumored to have told friends and family last week that they’re set to wed. Kit and Leslie started dating when Rose Leslie was cast for the role of Ygritte in Game of Thrones Season 2.

They’re yet to set a date, but told friends and family last week that they’ve got engaged,’ a source told The Sun.

A few months ago Kit and Rose moved into a £1.75million mansion in East Anglia. ‘I’ve moved in with my other best friend Rose, so I’m very happy,’ Kit Harington told chat show host James Corden in June. ‘It’s going well, so she’s got all sorts of ideas for the house.’

I said to her, cause she’s moved into my house, ‘Look, darling, it’s important that this is our space. That it feels like our space. That you haven’t just moved into mine. Move anything you want around, change anything, chuck anything out.”

According to the sources, Kit believed the next step was to ask Rose to marry him. Kit and Rose love each other deeply.

At the season seven premiere of Game Of Thrones in Los Angeles, Kit spoke about his relationship with his former co-star.

I think that’s the really special thing about it is that we met on this show and here we are seven years down the line back here promoting season seven,’ he said on the red carpet.

I mean it’s mad. It’s such a special thing. I’m so privileged,’ he added.

This is such an amazing news. I am sure Game of Thrones fans will be delighted for both Harington and Leslie. Congrats to both of them.

Tom Hopper (Dickon Tarly) Speculates Game of Thrones Ending

Dickon Tarly Speculates Game of Thrones Ending

Dickon Tarly (Tom Hopper)

Tom Hopper who played Dickon Tarly has his own speculations on how Game of Thrones will end. He talked about two major theories about Game of Thrones Season 8.

Dickon Tarly (Tom Hopper) On How Game of Thrones Will End

We have talked about how Sam Tarly can be a central character in defeating the Night King and ending the Great War. There has been a discussion about how Sam can end up writing the history of Westeros, A Song of Ice and Fire‘. Tom Hopper supports this idea.

Dickon Tarly Speculates Game of Thrones Ending

Samwell Tarly With Archmaester Ebrose at The Citadel

I like the Sam fan theory,” Tom Hopper said. “It’s that Samwell Tarly is narrating the whole thing like it’s his story.”

Ahhh..That’s interesting and quite fitting to Sam’s character played by John Bradley. I wonder if George RR Martin likes this idea.

John Bradley also offered his thoughts on this speculation after Game of Thrones Season 6. He said, “One theory is that what we’re seeing now and how we’re experiencing Game of Thrones is Sam telling the story of Game of Thrones. If you take the logic of the story now, the story of Westeros and the story of the battle for the Iron Throne, it would be a book in [the Citadel] library,” he told The Hollywood Reporter last year.

So Sam Tarly ending up writing Westeros’ history is very much likely.

Tom Hopper didn’t just stop there. He weighed in on the Valonqar prophecy of Maggy the Frog, that Cersei Lannister will be strangled to death by someone known as “the Valonqar”. In Valyrian, it translates as “little brother” or “younger sibling”. In Tom Hopper’s words, “I think Jamie is probably going to end up killing Cersei.”

We saw Jaime breaking all bonds with Cersei when he comes to know that Cersei lied to Daenerys and Tyrion about contributing Lannister bannermen to fight the Night King. We saw Jaime leaving the King’s Landing after Cersei almost killed Jaime.

Let’s see what happens in Game of Thrones Season 8. The filming of the next season begins in October.

The Fifth Game of Thrones Prequel May Be The Most Exciting One

I recently wrote about five Game of Thrones prequels that were confirmed by George RR Martin in his live journal back in May. HBO earlier had only confirmed four but now they have confirmed a fifth Game of Thrones prequel one to be written by Bryan Cogman. The fifth prequel may be the most exciting one as Bryan Cogman understands the soul of Game of Thrones and A Song of Ice and Fire.

Bryan Cogman Will Be Writing The Fifth Game of Thrones Prequel

The Fifth Game of Thrones Prequel May The Most Exciting One

Bryan Cogman contributes one episode per season, which makes Bryan Cogman the only writer to have contributed to all eight seasons of Game of Thrones. A Cogman episode is always marked by callbacks both to previous seasons and to deeper lore from Martin’s novels. In George RR Martin’s own words about Cogman, “He’s a really terrific addition. A great guy and a fine writer, and aside from me and maybe Elio and Linda, I don’t know anyone who knows and loves Westeros as well as he does.”

At that time Martin didn’t reveal the identity of Cogman as the writer of the fifth prequel (or successor series as George Martin likes to call them) as HBO hadn’t officially confirmed the news. But everything hasn’t always been rosy for Cogman. He wrote a very controversial episode of Game of Thrones Season 5, “Unbowed, Unbent, Unbroken,” which featured Sansa’s wedding night with Ramsay. But Cogman was very open to addressing questions and criticism about why he wrote a scene like that.

Cogman engaged in a dialogue over what many considered to be a misstep. The decision to put Sansa in such a position—one she doesn’t endure in the books—surely wasn’t his alone. But Cogman shouldered a lot of the blame in both one-on-one discussions with fans on social media and in an emotional commentary track, which is available on the Season 5 DVD/Blu-ray.

In fact, Weiss and Benioff have been reluctant at times to engage directly with the fandom and Cogman has often served as a direct line of communication. This year, he apologized to fans on Twitter for not including a scene between the direwolf Ghost and Jon. “I tried!” he said, acknowledging the desires of the fans to see more of Ghost and Jon together.

Bryan Cogman may be the best hope HBO has at ensuring a new series that will be both faithful to the spirit of Martin’s original text and consistent with the work that D.B. Weiss and David Benioff have done for the past seven or so years. He may indeed write the most exciting Game of Thrones prequel.

‘My need to be near fire-breathing creatures has trebled’: Game of Thrones star Emilia Clarke

Emilia Clarke Posts A Selfie On Instagram

Emilia Clarke broke the internet yesterday by dying her platinum blonde – going full Khaleesi for Game of Thrones Season 8. She revealed today by posting another selfie that she feels closer to her character of Daenerys Targaryen by dying her hair platinum blonde.

Alluding to her role as ‘mother of dragons’, the 30-year-old actress joked that her image overhaul had ‘trebled’ her desire to be ‘near fire-breathing creatures’.

Showcasing her golden chop in a smiling Instagram selfie on Wednesday, Emilia looked chic in a simple red sweater. She captioned the photo: ‘The experiment continues. My IQ has stayed around average and my need to be near fire breathing creatures and uncomfortable seats made of iron has trebled.’

It seems like Clarke wants to go all in for Game of Thrones Season 8, the filming of which begins in October. We all saw Emilia and Kit Harington get all hot and heavy in Game of Thrones Season Finale.

Jon sneaked into her quarters on a Targaryen boat and his lovestruck queen was too quick to invite him inside, resulting in the pair making love while at sea (the famous boatsex)- to the delight of fans.

Speaking in a special behind-the-scenes commentary for the show, Emilia said ‘gagging‘ was her first reaction to the Jon Snow and Daenerys having sex – while Kit acknowledged the ‘weird’ encounter had been inevitable after weeks of building romance.

Kit said: ‘I think they both know it’s wrong. I think they both know it’s going to cause problems. But it’s that thing, when you suddenly feel that deeply about someone and you go through these events together, it’s like a runaway train.’

I think it’s an inevitability from about halfway through the season that Jon and Daenerys will fall into bed together. You can’t stop it from happening.

Emilia Clarke aka Daenerys Targaryen broke the internet today with this Instagram post. She died her hair in Khaleesi style (for Game of Thrones Season 8?) and embraced her Targaryen hair color.

She wrote, “I done did it. Mother of dragons meet Emilia. Emilia meet mother of dragons. If you squint just so you might never know. All hail to the magnificence of @kevalexanderhair and @candicebanks74 the genius creators of ‘KHALEESI WIG’ (and not forgetting all the hair on game of thrones for 8 glorious years) for at long last making this magical moment a reality“.

Emilia seems happy and excited. Is Kit Harington (Jon Snow) excited? Haha..Or Aegon Targaryen.

We all love you Dany!! And we are excited about your new hair color.

The Glaring Absence of Game of Thrones in Emmys 2017

The absence of Game of Thrones in Emmys 2017 was glaring. For last so many years, Game of Thrones has been the highlight of Emmy awards. But this year, The Handmaid’s Tale swept the best drama series instead of Game of Thrones.

The Handmaid’s Tale vs Game of Thrones in Emmys 2017 – No Comparison

Game of Thrones in Emmys 2017

D. B. Weiss and David Benioff With Some of The Game of Thrones Cast and Crew Receiving Outstanding Drama Series Award at Emmys 2016

The Handmaid’s Tale is the first-ever streaming show (which airs on Hulu) to win an Emmy for Outstanding Drama. It was also probably the least watched winner of Emmys ever in the Outstanding Drama Series. Last year, Hulu said it had 12 million subscribers, with slowing growth relative to prior years. This year, the number of total subscribers is estimated at around 15 million at the most.

Now, assuming that say half of the subscribers watch The Handmaid’s Tale (that may also be extravagant) that’s quite low a record as compared to the viewership of each Game of Thrones episode. Even if every Hulu subscriber tuned in to watch The Handmaid’s Tale, though, viewership would still be far below Game of Thrones, which pulled in an average of 26 million viewers per episode.

I don’t mean to say that The Handmaid’s Tale didn’t deserve this award but had Game of Thrones been eligible for Emmy nominations this year, the show may have looked quite different last night. After all, Game of Thrones Season 7 was quite awesome. The seventh season of Game of Thrones aired over the summer, but it didn’t start in time to be included in this year’s Emmy slate. That’s the reason for no awards for Game of Thrones in Emmys 2017.

Well, we will see Game of Thrones winning like crazy in Emmys 2018. Game of Thrones deserves the best.

Five Game of Thrones Spin-Offs In Development – All We Know So Far

Five Game of Thrones Spin-Offs

Five Game of Thrones Spin-Offs. What Do We Know?

There are five Game of Thrones spin-offs (George RR Martin likes to call them successor series) currently in development for HBO. Some of them are reportedly being set in Westeros, home to the Iron Throne. It seems various writers, including GRRM pitched their ideas and this is what we know as of now.

What Do We Know About These Five Game of Thrones Spin-Offs?

Back in May, Martin confirmed this news on his blog. Says Martin, “Every one of the concepts under discussion is a prequel, rather than a sequel”. Westeros may not even be a part of them. Other highlights include:

  • None of the five new shows will center on any current Game of Thrones character. The new shows will introduce entirely new characters from the Known World.
  • Martin is going to play a role in the creation of all five series, and one of them he pitched himself.
  • The five new shows are currently in development and we know the writers behind four of them: Max Borenstein (Kong: Skull Island), Jane Goldman (X-Men: First Class), Brian Helgeland (L.A. Confidential), and Carly Wray (Mad Men)
  • The fifth writer is still a mystery.
  • None of the series will be about Robert’s Rebellion or adventures of Hot Pie (sadly). None of these spin-offs will be about Dunk and Egg.

What Have Other Writers Revealed So Far?

Aside from Martin’s blog post, we don’t know much about these five Game of Thrones spin-offs. One of the writers, Jane Goldman, recently told IGN that Thrones fans should recognize the material she’s adapting for her show:

“Yeah, I think I can say if I was able to say what mine was — yeah, I think as a book reader or as someone who watched the series, you would say, ‘Oh, that! OK.’ Yeah, it would be recognizable as a past event, but I think that’s probably as far as I can go.”

What can that be? The life of Bran the Builder? The Doom of Valyria perhaps? Or About the Children of the Forest and First Men?

One piece of good news is that Game of Thrones has teased a prequel on Game of Thrones animated history series and the clip features a part of the Targaryen conquest of Westeros. It will be made available with the release of Game of Thrones Season 7 DVD and Blu-Ray for limited edition starting Dec 12, 2017.
