Sophie Turner just confirmed the Game of Thrones Season 8 premiere speculations. Now we know when Game of Thrones Season 8 is gonna air. And it is not good news.
Sophie Turner Talks About Game of Thrones Season 8 Premiere Date
Game of Thrones fans! We are sorry to say but it seems like you have to wait a bit longer than usual to watch the final season of Game of Thrones. Game of Thrones Season 8 won’t be airing until 2019. And this is not just a rumor. Our beloved Sansa Stark has revealed that Game of Thrones won’t be returning until 2019 for its most awaited last season.
What Do We Know About Game of Thrones Season 8 Premiere Date?
“They have to write the episodes and figure out the production schedule. We’ll have a better sense of that once they get further into the writing”, Bloys acknowledged.
And Sophie told Variety: “I’m really excited. Game of Thrones comes out in 2019.” That’s a bummer. But if it is any consolation, at least the fans now know that the show won’t be returning until 2019.
One the one hand this is not what fans wanted to hear but on the other hand, I think the wait is worth it. Bloys and the HBO team are working hard to make sure that the fans get what they deserve.
“When you see these battles in season 7, and what I imagine season 8 will be, it’s a big, big show. We’ve done a lot of great shows, but this one combines the complex characters we love with a huge cinematic scope. I think this is the first show to prove that can be done — and we’re the first people to pay for it”, said Bloys in her recent interview.
Game of Thrones Season 8 is the most awaited penultimate final season of Game of Thrones. Here are all the Game of Thrones Season 8 facts.
Game of Thrones Season 8 Facts – What Do We Know So Far About Game of Thrones Season 8?
Game of Thrones Season 8 premiere date will most likely be in late 2018 or in early 2019. Iain Glen (Jorah Mormont) just revealed the reason behind the delay in release date of the next season in his interview with Comic Con 2017.
Game of Thrones Season 8 Premiere Date
Iain Glen revealed that production for Game of Thrones season 8 will use only one filming unit instead of two units. The past seasons have used two units with the exception of season 3 which used 3 units.
“We’re all starting to occupy the same territory, we’re all starting to be in the same storylines and so they can’t [have two filming units] anymore,” he explained. “I think this last season will take much longer to shoot because they can only use one unit because we’re all in the same sort of scenes.”
So that explains the delay in Game of Thrones Season 8 release date.
Game of Thrones Season 8 Facts – Multiple Endings For Season 8 Finale, Extra Security To Avoid Leaks
Casey Bloys, HBO Programming Director, spoke at Bethlehem revealing that HBO is gonna take strong measures to prevent the leaks. For this reason, Game of Thrones production will shoot multiple endings for season 8 finale. Apparently, even the Game of Thrones cast won’t know how Game of Thrones series will conclude.
Speaking of security, recently Liam Cunningham (Davos Seaworth) revealed that he has the Game of Thrones season 8 scripts but he can’t even read them. Why? Because of security concerns. “I got the scripts for the last season. Kind of. I got them all – I can’t open them because of all the security and I can’t walk them out. I went, ‘I’m not touching it I don’t care because it’s like pulling the pin out of a grenade.”
Game of Thrones Season 8 Episodes Will Be Monumental & Of Feature Length
Another fact about Game of Thrones Season 8 is that each episode of the last season of Game of Thrones will be of feature length. Liam Cunningham recently spoke about this with TV Guide.
“[The episodes are] definitely going to be bigger and what I hear is longer,” says Cunningham. “We’re filming right up until the summer. When you think about it, up until last season we’d have six months to do ten episodes, so we’re [doing] way more than that for six episodes. So that obviously will translate into longer episodes.”
That also explains the delay in Game of Thrones season 8 premiere date. I hope that the wait is worth it. Seems like it will be as John Bradley (Samwell Tarly) revealed in an interview that each episode of Game of Thrones Season 8 will be monumental. Says John Bradley, “I think what we used to call Episode 9 in ‘Game of Thrones’ folklore — the episode when everything comes to a head and you get a lot of spectacular sequences — I think you’re gonna get six ‘Episode 9s’ this year.”
Game of Thrones Season 8 Budget Is Gonna Be Huge – $15 Million Or More Per Episode
The Night King on the Undead Viserion
Game of Thrones has announced the budget for Season 8. It is going to be $15 million or more per episode. Wow, that’s amazing. That means that perhaps the fans will get to see the direwolves, Ghost and Nymeria. Also, more epic battle scenes. In my opinion, we are going to see epic battle scenes at Winterfell and the King’s Landing. Remember, the Night King is headed towards Winterfell after the wall fell.
Another Game of Thrones Season 8 Facts – Casting Calls For Seven New Roles
Game of Thrones rolled out a nationwide casting call for seven new roles for GoT Season 8. They are looking for a Northern farmer, aged 25 – 35; a sassy and attractive girl, aged 18 – 25; a mercenary, aged 35-50; a Northern sentry, aged 18 – 25; two guards; and a sailor, aged 35- 50.
Most of these roles are based on the people in the north, except the mercenary and the sailor. The mercenary will most likely be part of the Golden Company. The sailor would most likely assist Theon Greyjoy in his quest to rescue Yara Greyjoy.
Game of Thrones Season 8 Directors Confirmed
Game of Thrones has assembled an amazing crew of directors to film the last season. These directors have won Emmys for directing Game of Thrones episodes in the past. Add to that list the showrunners who have created this amazing show.
Miguel Sapochnik is returning to direct 3 episodes of Game of Thrones Season 8. He has directed the famous episodes of ‘Hardhome’, ‘Battle of Bastards’, and ‘The Winds of Winter’. David Nutter who directed ‘The Rains of Castamere (aka The Red Wedding)’, ‘The Dance of Dragons’, and ‘Mother’s Mercy’ will be directing two episodes. And the showrunners, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss (“Walk of Punishment’, and ‘Two Swords’ will direct the penultimate Game of Thrones finale.

Littlefinger aka Lord Petyr Baelish was perhaps one of the most cunning characters of Game of Thrones series. But he met his own fate in Game of Thrones Season 7 finale. Lord Baelish death scene has been explained in Game of Thrones behind the scenes video.
Littlefinger Death Scene Explained
This Game of Thrones Littlefinger death scene video reveals how the scene was enacted and how the Game of Thrones cast felt about this scene. Aidan Gillen (Littlefinger) gave a spectacular performance.
Aidan Gillen felt pretty good about Lord Baelish death scene. Says Aidan, “Tables are very cleverly turned much to Littlefinger’s and we hope the audience’s surprise. Also nice to probably see Littlefinger really unnerved for once and really backed into a corner and rattled and wrong and sorry and dying.”
For Brandon Stark, it’s a very interesting moment. Isaac Hempstead Wright (Brandon Stark) felt excited about the scene. Isaac said, “this for bran is an interesting moment in time this is like something he’d go back to see you know a hundred years ago.”
This revelation that Littlefinger has betrayed her family was an eye opener for Sansa Stark. Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark) thought that the trio, Sansa, Arya, and Littlefinger had a great scene. Says Sophie, “Bran brings the knowledge, Sansa’s the politician and Arya is the warrior.”
Arya Stark perhaps enjoyed killing Littlefinger the most. In Maise Williams’s (Arya Stark) words, “eerie scene, because I was speaking to Aiden about it and he was like it’s a real shame because I always thought Littlefinger was a good person. And so I turned around and was like that’s why you play him so well because you don’t play him like he’s a bad character. You play him like every single one of his decisions is justified.”
Jeremy Podeswa on Littlefinger Death Scene
Shooting Littlefinger’s death scene was one of the biggest moments of got 7×07 for Jeremy Podeswa, Director of the episode. Says Jeremy, “I think for Littlefinger because he’s the consummate player you don’t really expect him to ever get outplayed but he does get outplayed and that is like a shock. You could argue that if anybody deserved it, it’s him at this point.”
There are many complex characters on in Game of Thrones and you love them and you hate them. Littlefinger was one of those characters. Jeremy Podeswa did justice with Lord Baelish’ death scene.
Talking more about the scene says Podeswa, “What I thought was so great about Aidan’s performance is that he really showed a kind of vulnerability and humanity in that last moment before he died. I think he really felt that he really loved Sansa and it’s kind of horrible when he gets killed.”
Great news Game of Thrones fans. Game of Thrones Conquest, the much awaited mobile game is set to be launched soon. It will be released on October 19 on Apple’s App Store and Google Play. Pretty soon you can play the war of Thrones on your smartphones. Isn’t that exciting?
Watch Game of Thrones Conquest teaser to get a flavor of what to expect from the game.
There is a benefit in pre-registering for the game at the official website gotconquest.com. Those who pre-register will receive ‘Prepare the War’ bundle for the first week of launch. According to Warner Bros. Interactive Environment, the bundle carries a $50 value which includes the Night’s watch training gear, gold, and some other resources.
The game is free to download and will offer in-app purchases for gold, gear and other resources. In the game, you’re supposedly the head of a new House planning to take the Iron Throne. Players can forge alliances and raise armies to crush their enemies. Players can also play political mind games just like our Littlefinger and Cersei. They can form their own small councils and sabotage their enemies. After all, in the Game of Thrones, you either win or die.
Iain Glen (Jorah Mormont) talked about the date for the first read-through meet up of Game of Thrones season 8 cast in his interview with Stockholm Comic Con. The footage was discovered by Watchers on the Wall. We now know when the entire Game of Thrones cast is gonna meet for the first read-through of Game of Thrones season 8.
Game of Thrones Season 8 Cast Meet Up On October 9
Iain Glen is seen telling his audience at Stockholm Comic Con (at 20:43 in the video) that the Game of Thrones Season 8 cast will meet for a read-through on October 9th. Until then, he has no idea what season 8 holds, though he “would just be happy to be alive and in what I imagine is going to be a massive battle [in which] I then survive or die nobly” (21:38).
Why This Two Year Gap in Game of Thrones Season 8 Release Date?
He also told (at 6:40) that production for season 8 will use only one filming unit instead of two units. The past seasons have used two units with the exception of season 3 which used 3 units.
“We’re all starting to occupy the same territory, we’re all starting to be in the same storylines and so they can’t [have two filming units] anymore,” he explained. “I think this last season will take much longer to shoot because they can only use one unit. Because we’re all in the same sort of scenes.”
What Else Does Iain Glen Say In The Stockholm Comic Con Video?
Iain Glen is fond of the last scene of Game of Thrones Season 1 Finale. Daenerys gives birth to the three dragons in that scene.
Another scene Glen is fond of is the gladitorial sequence in Game of Thrones Season 5 when he had to fight in an old bullring with six different fighters in front of Daenerys
According to Iain Glen, Jorah Mormont has moved past the desire of having a physical relationship with Daenerys Targaryen.
Iain would be happy to die in Game of Thrones Season 8 while trying to save Daenerys from a sword
Iain reveals that actors are always the last ones to know what is gonna happen in a season. He went in for a greyscale prosthetic fitting before he even knew that he will be having greyscale
About his fate in Game of Thrones Season 8 while fighting the long night: Iain Glen said that he will be happy to survive this massive battle or die while fighting nobly
Iain Glen revealed that he was once played as a country singer in a movie called Small Country Repair
The entire cast will be congregating in Northern Ireland for a read-through soon. The filming of Game of Thrones season 8 is supposed to begin this month. The use of only 1 unit explains why Game of Thrones filming and production may end up taking 10 months. We recently learned that Game of Thrones Season 8 may end up filming multiple endings. That can also cause further delay in the Game of Thrones season 8 release date. The expectations from the last season are already high.

John Bradley (Samwell Tarly) just raised the bar for Game of Thrones Season 8 episodes. He recently gave an interview to HuffPost. According to him season 8 is gonna be pretty epic.
What To Expect From Game of Thrones Season 8 Episodes?
We recently heard from Casey Bloys, HBO’s Programming Director, that the last season of Game of Thrones will have multiple endings to avoid the leaks. Nikolaj Coster-Waldau apparently doesn’t think that HBO would waste their money like that.
We also heard that the budget for season 8 episodes is gonna be about or more than $15 million. Season 8 filming is starting this month. Add that to the list of amazing directors that game of thrones season 8 episodes are going to have. Miguel Sapochnik who directed ‘Hardhome’, ‘Battle of Bastards’, and ‘The Winds of Winter’ is going to direct 3 episodes. David Nutter who directed ‘The Rains of Castamere’, ‘The Dance of Dragons’, and ‘Mother’s Mercy’ will be directing two episodes. And the showrunners, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss (“Walk of Punishment’, and ‘Two Swords’ will direct the penultimate Game of Thrones finale.
Samwell Tarly (John Bradley) has raised the expectations even further. Jon Bradley told HuffPost, “We assembled a team of directors this year who have been in charge of some of our big episodes in the past. Miguel and David have done some of the standout episodes of previous seasons. Clearly, every single episode of the six you’ve got left in Season 8 is gonna be monumental and needs somebody at the helm who’s done that kind of high-stakes, high-octane direction before for us.”
According to Bradley, the viewers should expect six Episode 9s next season. “I think what we used to call Episode 9 in ‘Game of Thrones’ folklore — the episode when everything comes to a head and you get a lot of spectacular sequences — I think you’re gonna get six ‘Episode 9s’ this year.”
About David Benioff and D. B. Weiss Directing The Series Finale?
Bradley thinks that David Benioff and D. B. Weiss directing the Game of Thrones finale is a poetic decision. “They know everything about the show. They’ve been in charge of everything ― every key decision in all seven seasons so far has been made by David and Dan. I think they’ve done an incredible job with this series. They deserve everything they get, and they deserve the right to finish this show off in the way they see fit. I don’t think there’s anybody better qualified, so I can’t wait.”
Well, each day is gonna be harder for fans to wait for the last season of Game of Thrones. John Bradley’s full interview can be found here.

We all saw the suicide squad fighting the zombie polar bear in Beyond The Wall. That zombie polar bear took the life of Thoros the Myr. Game of Thrones cast and crew talk about this beast created with special effects.
Zombie Polar Bear: Cast and Crew Reaction
Says Joe Bauer, VFX Supervisor, “You’re in a blizzard, your visibility is 10 feet. You’ve got something that’s out there that you don’t know where it’s gonna come from. It’s very much like a sharp knife.“
Alan Taylor took this episode of Game of Thrones Season 7 as a challenge. This episode featured two special features, a zombie polar bear, and resurrection of Viserion.
We felt like a real collaboration in building this sequence. It was the script, it was the effect and then it was my ideas. And also I’ve worked with a wonderful storyboard artist Richard who made the scene.”
Kit Harington (Jon Snow) shared his thoughts as well, “We did it in a big CGI box and they said to us at the start this is gonna be quite confusing because you won’t have any sense of direction and it was a bit weird.”
Indeed it must have been weird as there was no polar bear but a big guy wearing a green suit. Rory McCann (Sandor Clegane aka The Hound) says jokingly, “I’ve had people going off when I will come towards you I’m a bear, no you’re not. His name is Tofy. It was pretty weird, to be honest“.
Game of Thrones Revealed: Night King Resurrects Viserion
Night King Resurrects Viserion: Behind The Scenes
Game of Thrones Revealed, a 7 part series of behind the scenes action on Game of Thrones released a video on how the Night King resurrected Viserion towards the end of the episode “Beyond The Wall“.
The fun part is watching Night King (Vladimir Furdik) giving a signal that he is ready to resurrect Viserion. Also, it is interesting to know that David Benioff and Dan Weiss didn’t have a script for Beyond The Wall when they approached Alan Taylor to direct this episode.
Viserion Resurrection: Special Effects
The special effects are quite phenomenal for this particular part of the frozen lake battle.
Says Dan Weiss, “We knew that the Night King would see and seize this opportunity and like to think that. When the dragon dies that it’s kind of a nice one-two punch. On the one hand, you’re just seeing that the horror of one of these three only unique amazing beings like this in the world going under the water and not coming up again.“
Viserion Sinks Into The Lake
“And you’re processing something that’s even worse which is when it comes back out from under the water again what happens then.“
The eyes of the white walkers and the wights are a prominent feature of the show. A lot of work has gone into the specifics of the eyes of the wights and the white walkers. The Game of Thrones crew put a lot of effort into the iconic image of Viserion’s eye turning blue. It was the oh shit moment where everyone realized that the Night King has resurrected Viserion.
Night King Resurrects Viserion
It will be fun to see behind the scenes footage of Viserion emitting blue fire to destroy the wall in the next video of Game of Thrones Revealed series.

Game of Thrones Season 8 Filming Begins in October
Fantastic news for those awaiting the next season of Game of Thrones. Game of Thrones Season 8 filming is about to begin this month. Our favorite Maise Williams (Arya Stark) has arrived in Belfast for the GOT8 filming.
Game of Thrones Season 8 Filming To Begin Soon
A few days earlier Nikolaj Coster-Waldau dropped a hint for the filming to start in October. Thanks to Ray Jorden, a twitterati we now know that Maise Williams has been stopped in Belfast, Northern Ireland, which houses a production center of Game of Thrones.
Winterfell is going to be a central place of a rendezvous for all of the remaining Game of Thrones cast to fight the long night and the great war. There are going to be several reunions there between the surviving GOT characters. I am pretty sure that there is going to be a battle scene at Winterfell between the Night King and his army of the dead (not to forget the undead Viserion) and Daenerys, Jon Snow and their allies. So we will see a lot of Game of Thrones characters pouring into Belfast over the next few days.

This short video is just a teaser to the whole version of the conquest of Westeros by Aegon Targaryen. Harry Lloyd (Viserys Targaryen) has narrated the story. With the doom of Valyria, some Targaryens moved to Dragonstone. Aegon Targaryen had his eyes on Westeros and saw an opportunity. Westeros at that time was fractured with squabbling lords of the so-called Seven Kingdoms. Westeros had no true leader at that time. Aegon decided to conquer Westeros along with his two sisters who were also his wives, Visenya Targaryen and Rhaenys Targaryen.
The full version of this amazing story of the conquest by Aegon Targaryen is going to be mind-blowing. The full version will be available in December along with the Game of Thrones Season 7 DVD/Blu-Ray release.
