Game of Thrones has mentioned the First Men, the Rhoynar and the Andals, the Children of the Forest so many times in the show. Just recently we saw the caves at the Dragonstone with paintings made by the Children of the Forest in The Spoils of War. History plays a big role in shaping up a nation, democracies, monarchies and even our day to day lives.
Game of Thrones is continuing their tradition of providing animated extras to keep giving viewers a flavor of the history of Westeros, following their coverage of Robert’s Rebellion (narrated by Ser Barristan Selmy a.k.a. Ian McElhinney) with one voiced by Viserys Targaryen himself, Harry Lloyd. This time they have come up with an animated video of Targaryen conquest of Westeros after the fall of Valyria.
It makes one wish that the series could actually bring the beauty of Valyria to life in the series. I mean, just look at the amazing buildings in the video.
The whole series “Game of Thrones Conquest & Rebellion: An Animated History of the Seven Kingdoms” comes out with a limited edition of DVD and Blu-Ray on December 12, 2017.
