Some Predictions On What Can Happen In Game of Thrones Season 8

This post contains possible Game of Thrones Season 8 spoilers

Game of Thrones Season 7 finale ended with a bang. It hit several important moments and left us wondering what to expect in Game of Thrones Season 8. Here are some theories and spoilers on what can happen in Season 8.

Game of Thrones Season 8 Spoilers – Major Hints

Daenerys and Jon Will Have A Baby

Game of Thrones finale revealed some significant Game of Thrones Season 8 spoilers. We kept on hearing from Dany that she can’t have children in Game of Thrones Season 7. Mirri Maz Duur, the witch who killed Khal Drogo prophesied that Daenerys can’t have kids. But Game of Thrones has done this to us in the past. They build a narrative to make viewers believe that something cannot happen but then that thing actually happens and then everyone is like WHATTTTT!!

Game of Thrones Season 8 Spoilers

Jon Snow Daenerys Sex Scene

We saw Jon and Daenerys having sex in Game of Thrones finale and I am pretty sure their hot sex made a baby already.

Samwell Tarly Will Find Out The Way To End The Great War

Samwell Tarly has been the most intelligent man in the show so far. He found the Dragonglass and the horn at the Fist of The First Men. He killed a white walker with dragonglass. He found out that dragonglass is sitting at Dragonstone. He and Gilly found out that Jon Snow is Aegon Targaryen. He cured Jorah of greyscale.

Game of Thrones Season 8 spoilers

Samwell Tarly and Gilly at the Citadel

It is most likely that Samwell will help Brandon Stark, Jon Snow and Daenerys to defeat the Night King. Perhaps Sam will find out a way from his Citadel scrolls and books.

Jaime Lannister Will Kill Cersei

We saw Jaime Lannister heading to the north in the season 7 finale.

Game of Thrones Season 8 Spoilers

Jaime Lannister Leaving Kings Landing

We saw Cersei announcing her pregnancy to Jaime. According to Cersei’s prophecy by Maggy the Frog, Cersei will only have 3 children and they will all die. Well, Cersei’s 3 kids are already dead so there is a great chance that she will miscarry her fourth child with Jaime. But we know how wicked Cersei is. She may eventually use Jaime under the false pretense of still being pregnant after miscarrying the baby. Or Cersei may do something worse than that which may be the breaking point for Jaime. May be Jaime will fulfill Valonqar prophecy of Maggy the Frog, that Cersei will be strangled to death by someone known as “the Valonqar”. In Valyrian, it translates as “little brother” or “younger sibling”.

The Night King Will Destroy The Iron Throne

Game of Thrones Season 8 Spoilers

Daenerys Visits The Throne Room in the King’s Landing When She Visits House of the Undying

When Daenerys visited House of the Undying, she had a vision of the throne room in King’s Landing. The roof was all broken and snow was pouring in. We already saw snow hitting King’s Landing in Season 7 finale. This is perhaps an indication that the Night King and his army of the dead will reach King’s Landing and destroy the throne room and Iron Throne.

Daenerys Will Die in Game of Thrones Season 8 Finale

In Daenerys’s second vision upon visiting House of The Undying, she goes beyond the wall where she has already been now to save Jon and others in season 7 from the Night King. In the earlier vision, she doesn’t touch the Iron Throne but moves on to go beyond the wall. This may be an indication that she will never sit on the Iron Throne. Her purpose maybe just to save Westeros and end the long night by sacrificing herself.

Game of Thrones Season 8 Spoilers

Daenerys with Khal Drogo and Rhaego in the House of the Undying

In her final vision she visits a tent where she finds Khal Drogo and her son Rhaego who died in season 1. She says to the Khal that maybe she is already dead and she just doesn’t know yet. This maybe the destiny of Daenerys to die and ultimately unite with her dead husband and son. That will be tragic but may be that is the bitter sweet ending that D&D and GRRM refer to. Maybe Jon Snow is Azor Ahai and he may have to sacrifice Daenerys, his true love to take the Night King down for good.

Sansa Stark Will Die

Game of Thrones Season 8 Spoilers

Sansa Stark – Lady of Winterfell

Sansa Stark’s storyline has revolved around the villains in Game of Thrones including Joffrey Baratheon, Ramsay Bolton and Petry Baelish aka Littlefinger. They are all dead now. Sansa always wanted to be a lady and she is now the Lady of Winterfell in the absence of Jon Snow, the King in the North. Sansa may play a role in taking down Cersei for good as she understands Cersei and has learnt quite a bit from her. Other than that, I would say her storyline is pretty much done and she may die in Game of Thrones season 8.

Democratic Coalition in Westeros

Game of Thrones Season 8 Spoilers

Tyrion and Daenerys in Beyond The Wall

One of the major Game of Thrones Season 8 spoilers was revealed by Tyrion Lannister in Season 7. Tyrion talked about choosing a successor for Daenerys Targaryen in the episode Beyond The Wall. That maybe another crucial moment in Game of Thrones Season 8 where the people of Westeros may democratically choose their leader after the long night ends.

All About Jon Snow Daenerys Sex Scene

In Sunday’s Game of Thrones Finale, we witnessed the epic Jon Snow Daenerys sex scene. Let’s take a look at what it meant for the actors, Kit Harington and Emilia Clarke, and for the Director, Jeremy Podeswa, to shoot the scene.

Jeremy Podeswa’s Take On Jon Snow Daenerys Sex Scene

Jon Snow Daenerys Sex Scene

Jon Snow and Daenerys Doing It

Says Jeremy Podeswa, “With Jon and Dany’s scene, the important thing for me was that it wouldn’t be prurient in any way, that there’s a very strong undercurrent in that scene. It was shot very, very simply. It’s basically just one steady push in shot to Jon and Dany and then that very important look between them at mid-level. And then a one-shot looking at Jon, then looking down at Dany. It wasn’t about shooting a big lovemaking scene. Once they’re making love, that’s the story. There’s no reason to kind of linger on that.

He continues, “But the real story within the story, was actually what was going on with their eyes and what’s happening — there’s an understanding between them that even though they know in some part of them that they shouldn’t really be doing this, they cannot not do it. There’s some element of destiny that’s brought them together, and they can’t fight it.

Parallels Between Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen Scenes

Jeremy Podeswa also talks about the parallels between Jon Snow Daenerys sex scene and the scenes showing Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen.

Jon Snow Daenerys Sex Scene

Lyanna Stark and Rhaegar Targaryen

The parallels are obvious, with both scenes centered on illicit, romantic meetings. “sIt was exactly as written in terms of the intercutting of those scenes,” said Podeswa. “It was also intercut with the younger Ned Stark and Lyanna telling the secret of Jon’s identity.”

Lyanna Stark and the younger Ned Stark

All those things were meant to be interwoven, to give a kind of prismatic view of the history that brought Jon to this point, and Jon and Dany together in this sweep of destiny, in this sweep of history. It was very much written that way. My contribution to that was really making that cinematic and making this feel like a fluid movement through time as we’re seeing this all unfold.”

Emilia Clarke and Kit Harington on shooting Jon Snow Daenerys Sex Scene

Kit Harington, who plays Jon, told Entertainment Weekly about the filming the scene: “Usually you go into a movie and meet (your co-star) for the first time and you develop that chemistry over that time,” Harington said. “But if you’ve known somebody for seven years and shared this incredible journey in your own lives together … we’re both kind of freaking out about it. I would be like, ‘What’s the sexual tension in this scene?’ and she’s like, ‘Stop talking about sexual tension!’ It’s a unique experience to be in as an actor and you know the world is watching.”

Emilia Clarke, who plays Daenerys, agreed. “Yeah (I would say), ‘Would you just stop? Just give me some sexy eyes, don’t keep talking about sexual chemistry all the time. I love that when we get to the saucy stuff it’s a beautiful acceptance of a wordless … yep,” she said about the scene itself.”

We also saw the famous Jon Snow bum while they were at it.

All Moments: Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen Love Story

Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen, also known as Daenerys Stormborn, are all set to become a couple. Let’s take a look at all the special moments of their journey.

When Jon Snow and Daenerys First Met

Jon Snow and Daenerys first meet at Dragonstone, the birth place of Daenerys Targaryen and the power seat of House Targaryen.

When Jon Saw Daenerys For The First Time At Dragonstone

Daenerys is expecting Jon Snow to bend the knee. Jon Snow refuses to honor the pledge his ancestor, Torrhen Stark made to Aegon Targaryen to swear fealty to House Targaryen in perpetuity. He reminds Daenerys that her father burnt his grandfather and his uncle alive at the Red Keep. So he doesn’t feel any allegiance towards Targaryens. Daenerys asks for forgiveness for all the crimes her father has committed against the Starks. She requests Jon Snow to not judge a daughter by the actions of her father.

Jon still refuses to bend the knee and tells Daenerys that her war against Cersei is meaningless as the Army of the Dead is marching upon the living and she will rule over a graveyard if she doesn’t help Jon to defeat the Night King and his army of the dead. Daenerys claims that she is the rightful heir to the Iron Throne and all the years her faith in Daenerys Targaryen is what has kept her going through all the hardships she has faced.

Later on, they exchange many glances full of admiration towards each other. Jon Snow is touched when Daenerys says that she will let Jon mine the dragonglass and will provide whatever help he needs for that. Daenerys is touched by his bravery to come alone to Dragonstone knowing that he could have been captured by her army or burnt alive by her dragons but he showed faith in her.

Jon Snow and Daenerys Inside A Cave At Dragonstone

In the episode Spoils of War, Jon takes Daenerys inside a cave beneath Dragonstone. He shows Daenerys the dragonglass he will be mining and paintings made by Children of the Forest. Daenerys is amazed by looking at them.

Jon also shows her the paintings of White Walkers made by the Children of the Forest. Both of them are standing very close to each other. You can feel the heat and sexual tension between them.

When they are coming outside from the cave you can see the Fire and Ice together, only that the Fire is on the side of Jon and Ice is on the side of Daenerys.

Such is the amount of trust building between them that Daenerys asks Jon for advice after she hears the news about Jamie Lannister taking the Highgarden.

Daenerys is further pulled towards Jon when she flies back from the Loot Train Battle to Dragonstone. Drogon bonds with Jon Snow and Daenerys is impressed with that. It probably reminded her of the time when she took her first ride on Drogon.

Further, when Jon Snow is leaving for Eastwatch, Daenerys fondly tells him that she has grown used to him.

The Frozen Lake Battle and Losing Viserion

Daenerys wins Jon Snow’s heart by coming with her dragons to rescue him and others from the Night King and his army of the dead in Beyond The Wall. Jon Snow tells Jorah Mormont and others that Daenerys is their only chance to get out of there alive. She comes swooping in at the last minute and saves them except Jon Snow who is later saved by his Uncle Benjen.

When everyone thinks Jon is dead she asks Jorah to wait a bit longer. When Jon comes back to Eastwatch on Benjen’s horse she probably realizes that she has feelings for him. She is also taken aback when she looks at Jon’s wounds from getting stabbed by the men of the Night’s Watch.

Daenerys Realizes That She Has Feelings For Jon Snow

When Jon wakes up he expresses his condolences on losing Viserion and he wishes that they had never gone beyond the wall. Daenerys says she isn’t sorry as you have to see it to know it. He calls her Dany which she doesn’t perhaps like as her brother Viserys used to call her Dany. Then he calls her his Queen upon which Daenerys breaks down. She says, “I hope I deserve it“. Jon assures her by saying, “You do“. Both hold hands and have a moment together.

Tyrion Lannister Just Made An Epic Blunder In Game of Thrones Season 7

Tyrion Lannister has made many mistakes since the Game of Thrones Season 7 started. He has ill advised Daenerys on many fronts. His advice can cost Daenerys the claim to the Iron Throne, her dragons, and maybe her life, and can start the Great War between the living and the dead. Let’s take a look at all the damage he has done so far.

Bad Counsel by Tyrion Lannister in Stormborn

In the episode Stormborn, Tyrion strongly advises Daenerys to not attack King’s Landing.

Tyrion Lannister

Tyrion Lannister Advising Daenerys Against Attacking Red Keep

In his opinion, conquering Westeros would be easy for Daenerys. But he doesn’t want her to be the queen of ashes. He thinks that with the Tyrells and the Dornish on their side they can win the Iron Throne without turning King’s Landing into a slaughterhouse. But Yara Greyjoy, Ellaria Sand, and Olenna Tyrell do not like Tyrion’s suggestions. Olenna doesn’t think that being nice to people and being loved is gonna help Daenerys claim the Iron Throne in Westeros. Olenna advises her to be a dragon and to not be a sheep. Yara and Ellaria want to attack King’s Landing but against everyone’s wishes, Daenerys decides to go with the advice provided by Tyrion Lannister.

Tyrion suggests that the army that attacks the Red Keep should be Westerosi. He argues that Cersei will try to rally the lords of Westeros by appealing to their loyalty, their love for their country. If they besiege the city with the Unsullied and Dothraki, who are foreigners in Westeros, we will prove her point. He suggests that Yara Greyjoy’s fleet should ferry the Dornish army to the Red Keep and the Dornish and the Tyrell army should lay a siege on King’s Landing which would lead to Cersei bending the knee ultimately.

Well, nothing goes the way Tyrion thought in his head. When the Greyjoy fleet is going to Sunspear to get the Dornish army, they are attacked by Euron Greyjoy’s armada. Euron captures Ellaria Sand and Yara Greyjoy and takes them to the King’s Landing. Not only that, Euron destroys almost all of the Greyjoy fleet. His advice cost Daenerys losing the house of Dorne and the Greyjoy fleet.

Tyrion Lannister

The Unsullied Take Casterly Rock

Another master plan of Tyrion Lannister was for The Unsullied to take over Casterly Rock, which is the power seat of the House Lannister. According to him, Cersei will be ready for The Unsullied but he knows a secret passage to the castle of Casterly Rock through the sewers which only he knows. If The Unsullied entered through that secret passage they can get into the castle and fight the Lannister army. According to Tyrion, The Unsullied taking over the Casterly Rock was a sure shot win for Daenerys but again, Cersei and Jaime Lannister were two steps ahead of Tyrion.

Jaime and Cersei, instead, abandon Casterly Rock before The Unsullied arrive, and take over The Highgarden, the power seat of the House Tyrell. Highgarden has fertile lands and that will guarantee food for the Lannisters for the long winter. Jaime also takes over the gold of the House Tyrell to pay off the debt owed to the Iron Bank. Lady Olenna is poisoned to death by Jaime. So, again because of the bad counsel of Tyrion Lannister, Daenerys loses another powerful ally in the South, House Tyrell.

Tyrion Lannister

Lady Olenna And Jaime Before Her Death

Most Epic Blunder By Tyrion Lannister

The most epic bad advice that perhaps Tyrion has given to Daenerys Targaryen is in Game of Thrones Season 7 Episode 5 ‘Eastwatch’. In Eastwatch, Jon receives a raven from Brandon Stark about Army of The Dead marching towards Eastwatch by The Sea. Jon says that he needs to go back to Winterfell right away and prepare his bannerman for fighting the dead unless Daenerys wants to join them. Daenerys says that if she comes with Jon Cersei will take Westeros.

Tyrion then comes up with another genius thought. He says that Cersei will agree to a truce if we prove that Army of the Dead is real. He asks Jon if it’s possible to capture a wight from beyond the wall and bring it to King’s Landing. Tyrion thinks that they can get the support of the Lannister army to fight the Great War if they can manage to have proof. Jon thinks that can be done and leaves with Jorah Mormont, Gendry, and Ser Davos to go to the Eastwatch. At Eastwatch, Jon comes to know that Beric Dondarrion, Thoros of Myr, and The Hound have also come to Eastwatch to fight the dead. The Hound saw a vision in the flames of the Army of The Dead stationed at a mountain shaped like an arrowhead and he saw them marching towards Eastwatch.

Suicide Squad – Jon Snow, Jorah Mormont, Gendry, Tormund, Beric Dondarrion, Thoros of Myr, and The Hound

What Can Be The Consequences of Tyrion Lannister’s Disastrous Advice

Jon Snow, Tormund, Jorah Mormont, Beric Dondarrion, Thoros of Myr, The Hound, and Gendry along with a few other wildlings are now out on a mission beyond the wall to capture a wight to bring back to the King’s Landing. Now, let us examine the consequences of this suicide mission suggested by Tyrion Lannister. The Night King has hundreds and thousands of dead marching with him. Do you think this party of seven to ten people have any chance of making back to the Eastwatch safely? What are the odds they have against hundreds and thousands of dead white walkers? Almost, nada in my opinion. This time they don’t even have ships to save them unlike at the Battle of Hardhome against these dead people and the Night King.

The risk is too great. There is a strong chance that Daenerys would have to go to the North to save this suicide squad. Her other two dragons won’t have any riders to guide them if she goes. According to the stills, from the second preview of Game of Thrones Season 7, it seems like Daenerys will end up going there as we see a lot of Dragon fire beyond the wall.

Tyrion Lannister

Still From The 2nd Preview of Game of Thrones Season 7

There is also some speculation by the fans that one of her dragons will die fighting the dead. The Night King will revive that dragon and he will have an ice dragon. Goosebumps!! That can finally give the Night King and the Army of the Dead a way to break the wall. Remember, dragons have magical powers. So there is a risk of the suicide squad dying along with Jon and Dany and the dragons. That’s a lot to risk just to prove to Cersei that the White Walkers exist. And we know the power hungry monster that Cersei is. I don’t think Cersei will agree to any armistice even after seeing the proof of the Army of the Dead. Rather, she can even think of using the Army of the Dead to wipe off her own enemies.

I think Tyrion has gone too far this time. Somewhere in the corner of his heart, he wants House Lannister to not be annihilated completely by Daenerys. He still feels that Jaime will come around, if not Cersei. But his foolish advice can just provide the Night King and the Army of the Dead an entry to Westeros. His counsel might just start the Great War between the living and the dead. Long Night is coming, folks!
