We saw in Season 6 of Game of Thrones that Jon Snow is not the bastard son of Ned Stark. We saw Lyanna Stark in The Tower of Joy when she tells her brother Ned Stark about her relationship with Rhaegar Targaryen. She makes Ned promise to not tell Robert Baratheon about Jon as Robert will kill him. Lyanna Stark dies after giving birth to Jon Snow and Ned Stark brings Jon back to Winterfell as his bastard son.

The Truth About Rhaegar Targaryen

Drogon and Jon Snow in Eastwatch

Jon Snow is unaware of the fact that he is not Ned Stark’s bastard. He doesn’t know that he has Targaryen blood. He has no idea on the truth about Rhaegar Targaryen and her mother. But in the preview of Eastwatch, we see a shot where Drogon stands in front of Jon just like he did for Daenerys in Season 5 before she took her first ride on him.

The Truth About Rhaegar Targaryen

Drogon in front of Daenerys in Season 5

Will this be an indication to Daenerys that Jon will be one of the other dragon riders? There is already some chemistry brewing between Jon and Daenerys. Jon will most likely ride Rhaegal, the dragon Daenerys named after brother Rhaegar Targaryen who also happens to be Jon Snow’s father. The only person who knows about Jon’s true parentage is Brandon Stark, the Three Eyed Raven. We also see in the preview that Jon talks about Bran’s visions of the Army of the Dead advancing towards Eastwatch. Will Jon Snow also receive news from Bran about who his parents are? There are so many questions on the minds of the readers. It is hard to wait for the next episode. But meanwhile, let’s watch the preview again.

Let us see when Jon Snow comes to know about his true parentage and when we will see him riding a dragon. Join me tomorrow for a live analysis and commentary on Game of Thrones Season 7 Episode 5 ‘Eastwatch’.
