There were some key moments that can be called as Game of Thrones Season 7 Episode 3 top moments. I couldn’t take my eyes off from my TV for even a single second. It was simply fantastic.
Meeting of Ice & Fire – Jon Snow Meets Daenerys Stormborn – The Most Awaited Moment on Game of Thrones
According to David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, the spine of the episode is about the first meeting of Ice and Fire – Jon Snow and Daenerys Stormborn.
Jon Snow doesn’t have much idea about what Daenerys has gone through. Jon refuses to bend his knee to the Mother of Dragons as he probably he sees a rich girl with a fancy name sitting in a big chair with a fancy dress on proclaiming herself as the queen of the world. He doesn’t have much respect for her perhaps at this moment. He didn’t come to Dragonstone to join her in her fight against Cersei. None of that matters for him at this point. All that matters is fighting the dead.
According to Weiss, she looks at him and she thinks that he is some unwashed barbarian from the north, and he is a bastard and yet he’s calling himself king. If she perhaps knew what he’d seen she’d be looking very very differently at what he’s telling her. But at this point in time, she only sees Jon as someone who’s trying to carve up her piece of her kingdom for himself. And Dany is thinking that if what this guy is saying is true, then it really is an issue. But Dany has her own very serious issues to deal with in the shape of the woman who’s now sitting on the throne. Cersei is a murderous vicious woman, capable of insane amounts of brutality without a second thought if she feels like it’s what needs to be done.
After Tyrion’s advice, Dany agrees to have Jon mine the dragonglass. That is the first step from her side to make Jon an ally and to show good faith.
The Battle of Casterly Rock – One of Game of Thrones Season 7 Episode 3 Top Moments
According to David Benioff and Weiss, everyone realizes the two pulls of power for Cersei and Jaime at this point are Kings Landing and Casterly Rock. But Jaime also knows that he doesn’t have the forces to defend both. So he makes the strategic decision to give up Casterly Rock, to use it as a decoy, to lure the Unsullied over there to take it and to get them on the exact wrong side of the continent. The siege of Casterly Rock is so much about what doesn’t happen, how it goes contrary to expectations, so in order for us to understand that it doesn’t play out the way Tyrion expects it to, you really need to hear Tyrion’s expectations.
Jaime goes after the Highgarden, which is for him much more valuable because of Highgarden’s Tyrell’s stronghold, which commands almost all the fertile regions of Westeros. They are the wealthiest house but fighting isn’t really their forte.
Death Scene of Olenna Tyrell – One of Game of Thrones Season 7 Episode 3 Top Moments
Jaime thinks that he finally got to turn the tables on someone. But Olena still wins the scene. The one thing that she does have left to live for is the thing she saves for the very end of the scene. The piece of information that she’s been sitting on since season four. She beats him in the middle of her own death scene, and there’s nothing he can do about it. He knows that its true the moment she says it, “Tell Cersei I wanted to her to know that it was me”. She admits to Jaime that he killed his and Cersei’s son, King Joffrey, on his wedding day with Margaery Tyrell.
Brandon Stark Comes Back to Winterfell And Unites With Sansa Stark
Brandon Stark is finally at his home in Winterfell. But at this point, he is more worried about fighting the Night King. He wants to tell Jon Snow about the truth behind him being half Targaryen and half Stark. This is really important because it’s highly likely that Jon Snow will be riding one of the dragons, possibly Rhaegal in season 8 in the battle against the army of the dead.
Jorah Mormont’s Greyscale Gets Cured – Another One of The Game of Thrones Season 7 Episode 3 Top Moments
Jorah’s greyscale is cured at the moment by Samwell Tarly and he is off to fight alongside Daenerys. This is a defining moment as Samwell Tarly has discovered a way to provide treatment for greyscale to patients who are not young and whose disease is advanced. Archmaester Marwyn is pleased with Sam and has tasked Sam with organizing manuscripts which will ultimately become the book called ‘A Song of Ice and Fire’.
