Sophie Turner just confirmed the Game of Thrones Season 8 premiere speculations. Now we know when Game of Thrones Season 8 is gonna air. And it is not good news.

Sophie Turner Talks About Game of Thrones Season 8 Premiere Date

Game of Thrones fans! We are sorry to say but it seems like you have to wait a bit longer than usual to watch the final season of Game of Thrones. Game of Thrones Season 8 won’t be airing until 2019. And this is not just a rumor. Our beloved Sansa Stark has revealed that Game of Thrones won’t be returning until 2019 for its most awaited last season.

What Do We Know About Game of Thrones Season 8 Premiere Date?

A few months ago, Casey Bloys, HBO Programming Director, revealed that there will be multiple endings shot for the last season of Game of Thrones. Later on, Bloys hinted that the shortened season eight may be delayed for an entire year, telling Entertainment Weekly that producers want to make sure the finale is “cinematic”.

“They have to write the episodes and figure out the production schedule. We’ll have a better sense of that once they get further into the writing”, Bloys acknowledged.

And Sophie told Variety: “I’m really excited. Game of Thrones comes out in 2019.” That’s a bummer. But if it is any consolation, at least the fans now know that the show won’t be returning until 2019.

One the one hand this is not what fans wanted to hear but on the other hand, I think the wait is worth it. Bloys and the HBO team are working hard to make sure that the fans get what they deserve.

“When you see these battles in season 7, and what I imagine season 8 will be, it’s a big, big show. We’ve done a lot of great shows, but this one combines the complex characters we love with a huge cinematic scope. I think this is the first show to prove that can be done — and we’re the first people to pay for it”, said Bloys in her recent interview.
