How Game of Thrones Season 7 Episode 4 Leaked Online?
The leak originated from HBO’s distribution partner Star India, and the company’s logo appears watermarked throughout the leaked episode. A Star India spokesperson confirmed the leak in a statement, “This confirms the compromise of episode 4 of Game of Thrones Season 7, earlier this afternoon,” says a Star India spokesperson. “We take this breach very seriously and have immediately initiated forensic investigations at our and the technology partner’s end to swiftly determine the cause. This is a grave issue and we are taking appropriate legal remedial action.”
The episode entitled “The Spoils of War,” appeared on the subreddit r/freefolk, a popular Game of Thrones discussion board that is not moderated. HBO was subject to a security breach earlier this week, allowing hackers to reportedly obtain 1.5 terabytes of stolen data from the company’s US servers. Sources familiar with HBO’s security said that this was not related to this episode leak. The Indian news network NDTV also reported the leak.
