Zombie Polar Bear In Game of Thrones

We all saw the suicide squad fighting the zombie polar bear in Beyond The Wall. That zombie polar bear took the life of Thoros the Myr. Game of Thrones cast and crew talk about this beast created with special effects.

Zombie Polar Bear In Game of Thrones: Cast and Crew Reaction

Says Joe Bauer, VFX Supervisor, “You’re in a blizzard, your visibility is 10 feet. You’ve got something that’s out there that you don’t know where it’s gonna come from. It’s very much like a sharp knife.

Alan Taylor took this episode of Game of Thrones Season 7 as a challenge. This episode featured two special features, a zombie polar bear, and resurrection of Viserion

We felt like a real collaboration in building this sequence. It was the script, it was the effect and then it was my ideas. And also I’ve worked with a wonderful storyboard artist Richard who made the scene.”

Kit Harington (Jon Snow) shared his thoughts as well, “We did it in a big CGI box and they said to us at the start this is gonna be quite confusing because you won’t have any sense of direction and it was a bit weird.”

Indeed it must have been weird as there was no polar bear but a big guy wearing a green suit. Rory McCann (Sandor Clegane aka The Hound) says jokingly, “I’ve had people going off when I will come towards you I’m a bear, no you’re not. His name is Tofy. It was pretty weird, to be honest“.

This zombie polar bear was quite a beast. Hopefully, with the big whopping budget of Game of Thrones season 8, we will get to see our favorite direwolves, Ghost, and Nymeria again. Got 8 filming is supposed to begin this month.
